The One Before Mind

Dear Blessed One,

Life is constantly guiding and teaching us, removing people and things from our lives to create openings to our Higher Essence. Sometimes the extraction is not necessarily because the person or thing stands in the way of expanded awareness but more that the pain of loss can be a great catalyst for awakening, helping us to shake free from the limited human perspective.

Remember surrender, breathe in your center. If something is leaving, see if you can release without the claw marks. This can include old patterns, habits, and belief structures. Holding on tightly, fighting with the wisdom of life can slow the flow and create suffering.

Consciousness, the vast background of our being, perfectly leads the way. It knows all from beginning to the endless and makes each move in our lives with flawless precision. We are constantly receiving initiations preparing us for the next evolutionary leap in consciousness. Initiations come in many ways (dreams, spirit, transcendental, challenges, pain, etc.) and often force us to deeper levels of trust, surrender, and courage.

Nurture and nourish yourself, find ways to stay grounded, get support from loved ones and guides. Tending to the tender self in loving ways is essential, especially during difficult times.

When it feels like you are falling apart or the life you know is crumbling, it's important to remember to honor it all. Fall to your knees and let your heart break open. Hold in both hands the messiness of being human while also holding the perfection of it all. Life's got you and it knows best what is next for you in your journey home.

Listen deeply to how life is guiding you. While everything that arises is perfect, sometimes perfection may mean creating new boundaries, like saying no to abuse, narcissism, or other unacceptable behavior. Be still and call upon your higher essence for guidance and support, and then listen to the whispers from your heart.

This journey is not meant for the mind. Figuring it out is the booby prize. It is not possible to wrap the mind around the Infinite and what it has come to experience. Mind is a program structured with many beliefs.

A barricade to Consciousness is set through continuous thinking and doing. The mind tells us we've lost our connection to Source. When we stop doing and rest in BEing, we realize that we are always connected. Constant doing (which includes thinking) actually obstructs being. Pause, over and over, asking deeply of your wise self, your authentic self, what the next move is for you. Once you feel the creative energy that guides and flows through you, doing can now also come from the place of being. When doing merges with BEing, you are now able to bring that connectedness into everyday life.

In Zen they say find your original face, the one before mind. Before mind is the pure stream of Consciousness, which sees everything as transitory, and lightly holds it all in love.

Thanks for all the lessons 2020 and au revoir. I can't say that I will miss you. 😉

Much Love and Blessings to You!

"What we commonly call man, the eating, drinking, planting, counting man, does not, as we know him, represent himself, but misrepresents himself. Him we do not respect, but the soul, whose organ he is, would he let it appear through his action, would make our knees bend. When it breathes through his intellect, it is genius; when it breathes through his will, it is virtue; when it flows through his affection, it is love." ~ Emerson
